Greetings, Pooper Scoopers!

Don't forget, you can read my first "Panorama Beach" mystery, The Best Devil Money Can Buy," for FREE, all this month over on our writing site, YorkWriters.com.

If you'd prefer to read it on your device, the ebook is only $2.99 in all Major ebook stores, and the sequel, "A Breath Away From Dying" is also available for $3.99.  Like print?  Well, an omnibus containing both ebooks is coming very soon!  Watch for announcements!

Also in the mystery front, Mrs. Minion master's new mystery, "Murder Buys a T-Shirt," is also available in mass-market paperback at your favorite bookstore, as well as on your favorite device.  It's a fun contemporary mystery set in North Florida, featuring a souvenir shop owner and her foul-mouthed parrot which sometimes channels the voice of her late-uncle's ghost!

See you guys back here next week for more Minions madness!

Minions #318 - Sales Forced

Click Cartoon for Bigger Upsell!

Greetings, Cold Calls and Dubious Leads!

This week I'm presenting a bonus bit of pop-culture business.  It's amazing just how many cartoon trivia references and pop-culture call-outs this "DC Nation" short, which first aired this week, squeezes into just over a minute.  I was especially delighted to see the call-out to my beloved, 1970s, GI Joe Adventure Team (complete with life-like hair and beard), the 12" GI Joe connection being my excuse for posting it here...

See you guys back here next week!

Minions #260 - You're Looking Good!

Check following the Cartoon for extra Minion cartoon classics and a free ebook coupon!
Click Cartoon for Bigger Bite!

Greetings, Snack-sized Fans!

Download this FREE ebook!
Hey, did you know that this weekend was the 49th anniversary of John Glenn's historic Mercury flight which made him the first American in orbit?  As you know (if you've watched "The Right Stuff" DVD about sixty times like I have) NASA pretty much tried to treat the astronauts like Minions back in those early days.  They were brave pilots, but to some of the suits, they were just "spam in a can," something those highly trained pilot/engineers had to fight every step of the way.

So, in honor of this anniversary, and its dubious Minion connection, we're doing a couple of things to celebrate.

First, we're giving you a SmashWords.com coupon for a FREE SHORT-STORY EBOOK written by Mrs. Minion Master, Christina York, featuring an alternate-world story about John Glenn.  It's called "God Speed," and it originally was published in the DAW short-story collection "Time After Time," edited by Denise Little.  Our ebook coupon is courtesy of TsunamiRidgePublishing. Download is available in formats to read on your PC, Mac, and most ebook readers and portable devices.  You can even read it on the web.

Coupon code (to be used at checkout for a 100% discount), is FH43C  Expires March 21, 2011.
Here's the Direct Link to the story on the SmashWords site.

Also, in honor of the occasion, we're presenting encore appearances of a couple of our space-themed Minions at Work cartoons!

Enjoy!

See you all next week!

Minions #257 - Uninviting

Click Cartoon for Big Bite!

Greetings, under-bites and over-eaters!

Just a reminder that Mrs. Minion Master (writing as Christy Evans) has a new mystery novel coming out this week.  It's the third in her detective plumber series, "Drip Dead."  It's lots of fun, and set near the lair here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.  It's available in mass-market paperback and ebook where-ever books are sold, but you can do us a double solid if you just click the link at the left and order it from Amazon.  The two earlier installments in the series, "Sink Trap" and "Lead-Pipe Cinch" are also still available.  So check it out, for yourself, or as a gift for someone likes a little fun in their mysteries (or a little mystery in their fun)!

Greetings, Dino-snacks!

I'm posting late on Monday this week, which is about as bad as posting on Tuesday, since most of you seem to pick this thing up from work (don't worry, we won't tell!).  Mrs. Minion Master had some health issues this week that have been a distraction, but she's on the mend and was able to sign her new mystery novel "Lead Pipe Cinch" at Murder by the Book bookstore in Portland, OR this weekend, so it's all good!

This also disrupted our reorganization a bit, though I spent some extra time on some custom projects you'll be seeing soon.  I'm really pleased at how "Doctor Head-in-a-jar's" new robot-body is turning out, and there's a bunch of new gear for our mad-science labs.

Hey, as always, evil isn't free!  Your store purchases, book purchases (though our links or in your local store), Amazon purchases (using our links) and donations help keep the lights on at the lair.  Don't make us come over there and TAKE your money!

Anyway, I won't delay this any longer.  See you guys next week!

Greetings, Dino-treats!

Yes, this cartoon recycles an image (in higher resolution this time) of one of our very earliest cartoons.  #12 to be exact.   I don't apologize for it though.  First, it was a long time ago.  Second, I love this shot with the herd of hungry T-Rexes.  Third, that initial cartoon always bothered me.

I mean, what was going on there?  Was No. 1 rescuing the Newbie, or was he actually lowering him to be dinosaur food?  The latter just didn't seem in-character for No. 1, and the cartoon can be read either way.  So consider this cartoon to take place a fraction of a second later, settling the question once and for all.  No. 1 takes care of his Minion charges, even when (frequently) he's rescuing them from their own stupidity!

The great sort and reorganization continues over here.  I'm hoping to come back to the minions fully charged and ready to go.  I've found props, costumes and figures I'd forgotten I had.  Some of the bits and pieces I've located have also inspired me to create a few new props to use in future cartoons. For instance, I made some new chemistry equipment that will be showing up in mad-science labs in future cartoons, some free-weights to go with other sports and gym equipment I've long had but not assembled in one place, a lie-detector-type gizmo based on an existing generic "tech" prop, and an IV stand to go with the medical equipment I've managed to finally collect together in one box.

Doctor Head-in-a-Jar is also getting a major upgrade that I'll be finishing just as soon as the fricking weather clears up enough here for me to go out and do some spray painting.  (The weather here has been unseasonably awful.  I blame the Forces of Good.  Or possibly Canada, which scared much of winter into temporary retreat with their cursed Olympics.  Well, it's baaaaack!)

I've still got a few more weeks of cartoons before I have to go back into production.  I should be read, if not finished with the sorting.

Anyway, see you guys next week!

And if you order them through Amazon, we get a cut AND potential royalties down the road.

Greetings, Co-dependants!

Running a little late again this week. I was a little under the weather today. Something I ate. I think the Forces of Good may be poisoning my food again. But how can they possibly be getting into my impenetrable fortress lair undetected? I haven't got a clue. I wonder if the Minions can help. Let's see...

Nah, they got nothing.

Come to think of it, I was also (true story) bitten by a spider (somewhere between 8-11 times!) last Sunday that somehow found its way inside the sleeve of my jacket. Until now, I'd written it off as a coincidence. But it happened hours before I was to post my Monday cartoon, and then the internet went down!

No, there's a pattern here. The Forces of Good have fallen to using our own devious methods against us. That's not fair! Only we get to cheat!

Well, we're on a high state of alert here from now on. Orange. Puce. Plaid. I don't know. Whatever. Guess it's a good thing I called Number 13 in to taste my food for me. Isn't that right 13?

13?

13?

Sigh. Looks like we're going to need another 13.

Greetings, Gift Rappers!

If you haven't been here since last week's cartoons, check the couple of posts in-between now and then for some fun and news you missed. I've been doing some work here, making some changes, and getting ready for some travel next month.

As mentioned above, if you click on our link before making purchases at Amazon.com, it will do a lot (well, a little, but every bit helps) towards supporting Minions at Work. It costs a lot to keep the lights on here, what with buying new figures and props, lighting, domain registration, and just time. My goal this year is to more actively promote the site, increase our traffic, and make it self-supporting, and that's going to be a challenge with the economy as it is.

But hey, I know that many of you, my loyal followers, are suffering too. That's why we'll be here each week trying to bring a smile into your tortured, minion-like existence. We're all Minions on this bus, and we'll get through these hard times together.
Of course, if it comes down to you or me, I'm going right over the top of you. That's just the way it is.

Anyway, that's it for this week, but keep your eyes open for new changes and updates.

New in stores, a great new fantasy anthology with a new story by Mrs. Minion Master, Christina F. York. It's called "Enchantment Place," edited by Denise Little. THE MINION'S LAIR OF MERCHANDISE
"Where all our customers are satisfied, because those are the ones we allow to live!"

and

NUMBER TWO'S HOUSE OF NAUGHTY

(Oh, come on. You know you want to be naughty!)

Join the Minions reminder email list or we will send a presidential candidate to kiss all your babies!* It's free, it's easy, and you'll never miss a Minions at Work cartoon (or if you do, it won't be our fault!)

*Actually, we're just going to send Minion Number Two and he's just going to bruise the little tyke's face with his gas-mask. This, however, is still better than being kissed by the candidate.)

A cautionary message from your fearless leader:

Greetings, beneficiaries,

That reminds me, as (those of you in the U.S. anyway) celebrate Thanksgiving next week, remember not to bite off more than you can chew. As for your Minion Master, I'm loading up the escape pod for a quick ballistic arc over to Las Vegas, where I'll be working with my son on a new writing project. (Hey, off-season rooms are obscenely cheap, so is food, and Chris will be doing some research for a couple upcoming writing projects of her own.)

Anyway, I'll be leaving a Minions at Work cartoon set to go for you folks next week, but it may or may not go out exactly on schedule, depending on my internet access at the time.

Lets face it, a Las Vegas casino is kind of like a lair with more neon and better access to out-call escorts. Heck, it even has evil masterminds watching your every move through hidden cameras, and a plot to part the unsuspecting from their money and to get away with it Scott-free. From a villain's standpoint, you've got just got to admire the whole operation. So consider it Minions at Work research too. So, we're off.

And don't worry about Number Two folks. He's got more lives than a cockroach, and twice as much resistance to DDT. He'll be fine just as soon as they reattach his legs. And that will happen just as soon as they find them.

See you (remotely), next week.

- Steve
